The SE Museum Facilities Managers Forum were successful in attracting Arts Council England and SEMD support for a programme of sustainability training and activity in 2020-21.
This Forum consists of staff, trustees and volunteers with responsibilities for Museum Building management. Anyone with a facilities management role in a SE Museum is welcome to take part in the project. Please email email@example.com to join the mailing list and receive details of forthcoming training events.
1. Expert-led training events x 6, covering Waste; Heat; Water; Visitor carbon footprint; Retro-fitting of historic buildings and use of traditional materials and skills; Creating sustainable interpretations / exhibitions. Delivery via zoom in 2020 (26th June, 21st August and 30th October), and face-to-face in 2021 (dates and venues tbc).
2. Expert-led 1:1 mentoring for facilities managers at 4 museums to make sustainability improvements via action planning
3. Publication of a toolkit on sustainable approaches to museums’ facilities management.
