Sussex Museums Group is a cultural community dedicated to promoting, supporting and connecting museums and galleries in Sussex. The Group aims to promote excellence of all levels in Sussex museums, to provide a forum for Members to debate museum and gallery issues, and to ensure that Sussex museums have a voice in the cultural community.

The SMG website contains a searchable directory of Sussex museums which are members of the Group.

Frequency

There are four full meetings for members a year.

Location

The meeting location will move around the member venues in turn, or be held at a mutually convenient or central location in Sussex.

Chairmanship and Secretariat

The Chairman of SMG is Robert Symmons and Amy Roberts is the vice-chair.

The Secretary and main contact for SMG, is Portia Tremlett.

Reporting

Minutes and other papers are routinely circulated to member museums, and posted on the SMG website forum
