SEMD have commissioned experienced sector support agency: ‘Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy‘ to deliver two short online courses For our South East museums covering key fundraising skills, and current thinking and practice.
Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy have a good track record in the sector for transforming the fundraising knowledge, skills and levels of success of arts organisations. Working with trustees, CEOs, senior leaders midcareer and new and emerging talent to harness the opportunities that fundraising offers. They have worked alongside other regional museum development teams to support and grow a skilled fundraising workforce and raise levels of success.
Two short courses will be delivered in a 90 minute format on zoom. Each session will be available for up to 15 attendees to allow for discussion and Q&A. Bookings can be made for both days or just one day, but with only 1 booking per organisation on a session. After the course the trainer will evaluate attendee feedback and support with further queries and guidance requests.

A session introducing the importance of storytelling in fundraising and engagement, focusing on how museums can stand out during this time.
Key content will include:
> Ensuring that your vision and mission align with your case for support
> How our cases for support should incorporate storytelling
> Effective communication with supporters
> Analysis of how other heritage organisations and museums tell stories in effective ways
Expected Learning outcomes:
1) learn about how to match up your mission and case for support statements
2) Gain confidence in writing engaging narratives for fundraising
3) Learn about the importance of excellent communication
4) Gain knowledge from looking at case studies from other organisations
5) Help you to achieve accreditation scheme section 2.1 and 2.2
