This workshop aimed to help museums sharpen up techniques of visitor consultation and broaden community awareness of what you have to offer by:
- Defining and understanding what we mean by audience data or evidence about both visitors and ‘non visitors’
- Discuss and understand the importance of collecting this evidence and why it can actually help us to increase visitor numbers.
- Develop basic skills for developing an evaluation framework, choosing tools and analysing data.
Presentations were given by: Emily Leach and Kate Pontin, with case studies from Jasmine Farram from Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery, Anne Edwards and Kevin Joyce from Dover Museum and Arts Group, and Judith Carruthers from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
