Museum Accreditation Committee vacancies, Arts Council

Arts Council are seeking candidates for the role of Chair of the Accreditation Committee. They are also looking to appoint up to eight new members to the Museum Accreditation Committee.

The Chair helps to lead, support and steer the Committee and acts as key ambassador for the UK Accreditation Scheme.

The Museum Accreditation Committee is appointed by us to consider applications under the Accreditation Scheme for museums and galleries in the United Kingdom.

The Committee makes decisions on behalf of National Council, the non-executive board of the Arts Council, in awarding and removing Accreditation status for the museums that participate in the scheme.

The Committee meets once a year to discuss policy and review quality assurance. Smaller groups of the Committee, typically four to five members, meet more regularly as ‘Accreditation panels’ to consider assessments and make decisions regarding Accredited status.
