There is an opportunity for museums to involved in the DAN consortium which is looking to build its members across the arts. Two development meetings are planned to discuss the development of a consortium to help with new projects, commissions, touring, training and additional funding to support joint partnerships. They are looking at a fairly small group – possibly 6-8 people so they can understand what each organisation’s needs are, their priorities and capacity.

Diversity Arts Network was launched in June 2017 and now has over 70 members. Its prime aim is to discuss issues around Diversity, and for members to network and share and exchange ideas and knowledge, and the feedback from its members has been positive with them sharing their thoughts on how DAN could support them. The Diversity Arts Network is about bringing together arts and voluntary organisations to explore how diversity can add value to arts programmes and organisations, as well as starting to undertake longer term strategic planning for a diversity programme which can showcase new BAME artists/facilitators. Participating organisations including NPOs as well as community organisations, museums and libraries will be able to discuss challenges as well as strategies to become more inclusive in their own programming as well as making links with diverse communities within the South East including the economically deprived and rurally isolated to aid integration and cohesion.
