Finding Opportunities for Local Authority-funded Museums in a Cold Climate

Event Date:4 December 2020 10:00 am — 4 December 2020 11:15am

For those museums run or largely funded by local authorities, 2021-22 presents a challenging year in which to demonstrate your museum’s impact. Local authorities need to make cuts, but how can you show you can bring in external investment and contribute to council priorities?

Alistair Brown, Policy Officer at the Museums Association, will give an update on the sector and how the MA is advocating for museums, and Rita Chadha of the Small Charities Coalition will show how you can make your case for your museum, how to demonstrate that there is external funding that can help you, and finally what local government priorities present opportunities for future investment.

This event will take place on Zoom, you will be sent a link once your registration is confirmed.

Please note: this event is being run by South East Museum Development, therefore, places will be prioritised for organisations in the South East region.

By booking a place on to a South East Museum Development training event, you are agreeing to the following :

  • To ensure fair distribution, only one representative from each museum can book a place on this training course. Additional bookings from the same museum will go on to a reserve list. Places on this training course will be confirmed by email.
  • It is a condition of receiving the training provided without charge that the evaluation form is completed by the specified deadline in the email notification, unless a paper evaluation is specifically provided on the day of the training session for completion before the end of the session.
