Non-user consultation is a requirement for every Accredited Museum. If you would like to improve how you consult with new communities, here is some help.
In 2017, four museums in Hampshire joined a SEMDP project called 'Open Arms: non-user consultation in museum'. Together with marketing consultant, Christina Lister, the museums trained their teams, and then planned and delivered individual consultation projects. Each museum also received a grant of £300 to cover the associated costs.
This guide summarises the advice they received and shares their case studies to help you improve non-user consultation in your museum.
