The nature of volunteering is changing. People are looking for more varied and flexible volunteering opportunities. In museums, we need to adapt our approach to meet those needs. We are much more likely to recruit and retain the volunteers we need if we can offer opportunities that match people’s expectations.
The NCVO Time Well Spent report (2019) contains useful insights into what volunteers are looking for.
