Ready to Reopen Grants

Our Ready to Reopen grant is an emergency fund which aims to help museums prepare their site and operations for the safe return of staff, volunteers and visitors when the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions are eased.

We see this as an ‘emergency fund’ to help museums through the next 3 to 6 months.

Who can apply?

The grant is open to all accredited/formally working-towards-accreditation museums in Kent.

Please note that funds to Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire have now all been assigned.

National Portfolio Organisations and National museums are not eligible to apply for the grant.

How much can I apply for?

Individual museums can apply for a maximum of £2000.

How do I submit an application?

  • You should contact your MDO to discuss your application.
  • You should read the guidance document below to help you with your application.
  • You should complete a Ready to Reopen Grant Application Form. Only fully completed forms will be considered and processed.

When will I hear whether my application has been accepted?

We aim to assess applications and contact applicants regarding the outcome within 2 weeks of submission.

Applications close on 5 July 2020
