The Board of Trustees is responsible for overseeing the affairs of the Mill in accordance with the terms laid out in its constitution and relevant legislation. Members of the Board are Trustees of a charity and directors of a company limited by guarantee. Trustees have corporate responsibility for the general management and control of the Mill, ensuring that it is solvent, well run and delivering its charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public. Currently the Board meets quarterly on a Saturday morning.

The Board delegates some of its responsibilities to an Audit and Risk Committee, a People, Performance and Culture Committee, and a Weaving Advisory Panel. The Board may create work groups to support and oversee specific tasks in the Business Plan as and when the need arises, drawing on Trustees, staff, key volunteers and external advisers.
