Closing date:30/04/2020 Job Description:

Greenham Control Tower Ltd is a registered charity and in 2018 opened a visitor centre and café near Newbury in Greenham Common’s restored 1950’s grade II listed airfield control tower. In it we provide a window into Greenham Common’s past, and a centre for enjoying its present now that the common is again a public space shared with nature. The area has a long history, including most notably as a hub of airborne activity in WW2 and the Cold War, and as site of peace protest during some of this period.

In our first 18 months we have established good visitor numbers, a museum collection and a committed volunteer-base who advance our education and community goals through permanent and special exhibitions, events and other educational outreach. We aim to have a strong community connection in our café and spaces, and we grow awareness of Greenham Common’s national and international historical importance.

We are seeking 2 or 3 new Trustees and Directors to strengthen our existing team, particularly to aid engagement with younger audiences, finance, fundraising, museum operations and volunteer/HR. We want to be diverse and we encourage applicants of all ages and experiences. Whilst relevant experience is helpful it is most important that you are team oriented, resourceful and enthusiastic about our mission and values.
