Are you an experienced and successful fundraiser with a proven track record in search of a new challenge? The River & Rowing Museum is a dynamic independent museum celebrating its 21st anniversary this year. We need your fundraising skills to help deliver our new Forward Plan and vision to bring the river to life.

The Head of Fundraising’s role is to develop a sustainable philanthropic income stream for the Museum. This means building strong relationships with our community of visitors, donors, patrons and members and developing the role they can play. It involves identifying and cultivating new prospective donors, local companies, grant-giving bodies, and trusts and foundations that share our goals, providing focus to the successful delivery of our fundraising ambitions.

The postholder will work closely with the Director, who plays an active role in fundraising. The Chair of Trustees also supports, and the new Head of Fundraising will be instrumental in setting up a new Fundraising Board (including a Trustee/s as well as external members) to champion and assist with the successful achievement of the Museum’s fundraising ambitions. A small development team of two part-time roles (on currently vacant) report directly into the Head of Fundraising. The role is expected to lead fundraising at the Museum, providing strategic direction and championing a fundraising culture across the organisation.
