Filmmaker (freelance)

Location:D-Day Story, Portsmouth Salary:total fee c. £1,000 Main duties:

There are two parts to this role.
1) Filming
You will film a staff member delivering a tour of the museum’s Overlord Embroidery and stream it live on our social media channels.
2) Advice and training
You will work with staff to determine how we would like to use AV and our current ability to create content for social media and events in house, both live and pre-recorded.
Using this information, you will provide advice and some introductory training to improve the ability of staff and volunteers to:
 film, edit and present AV as part of virtual events or on social media
 film and stream live on social media
You will also provide advice on equipment we could purchase.
We are a diverse team and our levels of confidence and experience of creating AV material are varied. The solutions you offer must be easy to understand and implement by staff or volunteers. On the whole they should not require in depth technical knowledge and equipment.
Any hardware or software you suggest should be cost effective and work within the parameters of what is available to us as a museum run by Portsmouth City Council – we cannot download and use some types of software for example.
