Development Manager, The Brunel Museum

Location:London Salary:£34, 00- £36, 000 Closing date:09/12/2020 Job Description:

The Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Development Manager to start work with us as soon as possible.

Despite the challenging effects of the current Covid19 pandemic, these are exciting times for the Museum as it embarks on Phase II of planned improvements, targeting support for better site facilities and refreshed displays and interpretation.

The role will build on the recent success of a development grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) and grants from the COVID19 Heritage Emergency Fund and a DCMS  Arts Council Culture Recovery grant. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching prospects, securing significant gifts/grants from individual donors, trusts and foundations, up to a total requirement of £500,000, and setting up a donor database and pipeline for the Museum.  A period of six months to June 2021 has been set for this work, when the Second Round NLHF bid is due for submission.

The Museum is located in the Engine House, a scheduled monument, adjacent to the riverside Shaft of the historic Thames Tunnel.  Completed in 1843, it was Marc Brunel’s greatest achievement, helped by his son, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, just embarking on a prolific, world-famous career.
