Chair, The Hockey Museum

Closing date:30/09/2019 Job Description:

For the last 7 years, the Board of Trustees has overseen the development of The Hockey Museum (THM) from its foundation to its current position as a fully Accredited museum operating as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Katie Dodd and the Board have led the development of the strategy which underpins THM’s progress.

Following Katie’s decision to step down from this role, we are currently looking for a new Chair to take THM onto the next stage of its development – including the move to permanent premises in Woking, planned for 2020.

This is a purely voluntary role and will take as much time as an individual is prepared to commit. The minimum commitment would be a day a month with regular visits to Woking to the museum itself.

The Trustee Board currently comprises 8 trustees with a range of skills. We are looking for someone to complement these skills and, ideally, help to fill gaps in marketing and fund raising, which have been identified in a recent Resilient Heritage Project.

A full description of the role and its responsibilities, together with the skills and experience required is available from THM website, here.

Applications should be submitted by September 30th 2019.
