Job Purpose – To assist in curating the collection, supporting access through research, documentation and interpretation.
The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Assistant Curator with a specialism within the Natural Sciences to assist us in delivering the Arts Council England Designation Development Fund ‘Accessing Staffordshire Geology’ project. This is an externally funded, full-time opportunity, fixed term until 31st March 2022. We are looking to start the successful candidate on Monday, 01 June 2020.
The post is funded by the Arts Council England Designation Development Fund with the aim of cataloguing, digitising and displaying areas of the Natural Science collections, particularly geology, to improve public access. The project has a strong emphasis on supporting the post-holder to develop curatorial skills in relevant subjects through experience and training.
