Security Review 'sharing day'

Accredited museums must obtain expert and objective security advice for collections at least every five years and plan to implement any recommendations.  We are interested to find out if there are museums in west Kent who are due a review of their security arrangements and would benefit from a 'sharing day' with a consultant security advisor to help meet the Accreditation requirement. Please contact joanna.low@brighton-hove.gov.uk to register your interest.

LAINet team work at Secondary teachers' conference

LAINet members from four museums and heritage sites collaborated to present the Hampshire Solent museum offer to at the Hampshire and Wessex Secondary History Leadership Conference on 4 July 2014.

Education team members from the Mary Rose Museum, Royal Armouries Fort Nelson, Royal Victoria Country Park and Manor Farm Country Park presented materials and talked to teachers about their needs.

LAINet's next collaboration is a seminar on access and diversity, 'Museums for All' taking place at Basing House in Basingstoke on 29 September 2014. The event will explore how museums can fully engage people with physical or mental impairments, with examples of good practice from around the Hampshire Solent area.
