LAINet first winners in the 2014-15 Training Bursary scheme

LAINet (Hampshire Solent Learning, Access and Interpretation Network) submitted the first in this year's crop of Training Bursary applications. Their successful bid has funded six members of the network to visit Museum of London.

The theme of the visit was: simple innovative and cost effective technology for museum education. The visit was hosted by Paul Clifford, Programme Manager, Digital Learning, and grew out of contacts made at last November's 'Creative Use of Collections' sharing event where Paul spoke. The group are using their learning from the day to inform a technology focused LAINet training event, being planned for early 2015.

Lead applicant Eileen Clegg of Royal Armouries, Fort Nelson, organised the study visit and says 'The day went very well and we have lots of ideas that we would like to share with LAINet as a workshop at the Tech training day next year. We will all be writing up our notes, ordering the kit and having a play ourselves over the next few weeks.'
