A Common Approach to Capturing Visitor Figures in the South East

The South East has a wide variety of museums and heritage organisations, all greatly contributing to the visitor economy of the region. While visitor figures are submitted to Visit England by some museums, and, on a case by case basis, to various Local Authorities, there is no common mechanism of pulling this data together from all partners to give an overview of the number of people that visit the museums. This information would be extremely useful for benchmarking exercises, further audience development work, future strategic planning and an incredibly useful advocacy tool for all.
