South East Hampshire HLF Priority Development Area
Did you know that the South East Hampshire area, including the local authorities of Gosport, Havant and Portsmouth, have been identified by Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) as a Priority Development Area?
So HLF are very keen to help more groups to apply for projects which celebrate South East Hampshire's rich heritage and provide support for local organisations to develop projects and submit applications.
Grants start from £3,000 and could involve anything from exploring the history of places and events to recording people's memories.
Priority development areas will not receive automatic funding but HLF's aim is to generate a greater number of good quality bids from these areas which will be able to compete with applications from other places.
If you would like to find out more about HLF funding programmes or have an idea for a heritage project, feel free to contact Sandra Martin , Development Officer, South East England region, on 020 7591 6157 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Sandra's the lovely Scottish lady that many of you met at our First World War networking events at Winchester and Carisbrooke, she doesn't only deal with 1914-18 funding and she'd love to hear from you.
Sandra has also let us know that, whilst most HLF programmes are well subscribed, they are seeking more applications for 'Young Roots' which offers grants £10,000 to £50,000 for projects that engage young people, aged 11 to 25, with heritage in the UK.
