Visitor Finder

Visitor Finder is a new initiative funded by ACE and managed by The Audience Agency.  The project’s objective is to support museums in understanding and using visitor data more effectively.  Participating museums will collect a standard set of information through visitor survey collection.  The members will be working alongside peer museums as part of a regional cluster and these groups will establish where to gain the most benefit from data collection based on their priorities.

Visitor Finder will assist museums in developing their audiences by identifying hot and cold spots in local areas.  Museums will receive support in their advocacy work by collecting evidence about the impacts they make.  The Visitor Finder Regional Managers will work with clusters to interpret reports generated from the surveys, and the information received will provide evidence about the impacts made and how visitors rate the quality of their visits.

Designed specifically to meet the needs of the museums sector, Visitor Finder will guide the research design from question choice and sample size, through to fieldworker training and delivery of the reports.  Museums will also be invited to attend facilitated workshops to discuss findings, implications and opportunities, in addition to choosing from a series of workshops around particular themes.
