Emergency Salvage Kit now available to Kent Museums

While we hope it should never be needed, the emergency salvage kits, materials and equipment are now ready for museums to use should the unthinkable occur. Everything is being stored at the Historic Dockyard in Chatham and is available to all the Kent museums who have signed up to the Kent Salvage Group.

The emergency equipment available includes:

  • Several kits of emergency PPE equipment, such as hard hats, torches, gloves, high vis jackets and trousers etc.
  • 2 salvage kits containing items such as blotting paper, newsprint, acid free tissue, clothes pegs, towels and lot, lots more!
  • Additional absorbent materials such as absorbent cushions and snakes
  • First aid kit
  • Tools, lighting etc

Take a look at the spreadsheet on the Conservation Resource page to see the full list of equipment and materials available.

If you have any queries about the use of this equipment or would like help organising your own kit please contact Emily (Preventive Conservation Officer) or Sarah (Museum Development Officer).
