Useful funding digests for Hampshire Solent museums

Looking for the right funding source can be time-consuming. Did you know that there is a range of useful online resources to help you find the right funding pot for your project?

Southampton City Council's and Improvement Team now publishes regular Community Funding newsletters via its website featuring funding opportunities not just for Southampton but also for Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth. There are two editions each month: one has upcoming deadlines in the next 6-8 weeks and the other has ongoing funding (those with no deadline or rolling deadlines throughout the year). Grants featured in the latest edition include Southampton City Council 'Community Chest,' next deadline 15 May and the Ford Britain Trust, next deadline 1 June.

HIWCF (Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation) is an independent charitable foundation dedicated to connecting donors with the local causes and charities they care about. HIWCF has built a local endowment and also manages the distribution of funds on behalf of others (corporations, statutory, and individuals) to voluntary and community groups based in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. To help connect organisations to the right donors, there is now a search tool on their website.

Looking further afield, Funding Central is a free, Government supported website for charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises - with a searchable database covering thousands of funding and finance opportunities. You can search on the website and also sign up for weekly alerts so that funding opportunities that suit your organisation's needs are emailed directly to your inbox.
