Security Review 'sharing day'
Accredited museums must obtain expert and objective security advice for collections at least every five years and plan to implement any recommendations. We are interested to find out if there are museums in west Kent who are due a review of their security arrangements and would benefit from a 'sharing day' with a consultant security advisor to help meet the Accreditation requirement. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
Collecting Cultures is an initiative from the Heritage Lottery Fund which supports museums, libraries and archives to develop their collections through strategic acquisition projects. Grantees plan and deliver programmes of targeted purchase and engage a wider range of people with their collections.
The initiative is intended to:
- support the development of collections and their use through strategic acquisition programmes, related research and public programmes
- enhance the professional knowledge and skills of staff working in museums, libraries and archives
- use strategic collecting programmes to support the funded museums, libraries and archives to increase resilience as an organisation.
Grants from £50,000 to £500,000 are available, and the closing date for applications is 12 noon on 2 May 2014.
The HLF recommends that you send in a project enquiry form before you apply - this must be done before 3 March 2014.
