Job Opportunity: Operations and Visitor Services Manager, Maidstone

Sunday 21st October 2018

Salary:  MBC Grade 10 - £31,936 - £34,898

Maidstone – Great people, great place, great opportunity

This is a full time 37 hours per week position including Saturdays and some Sundays

Maidstone Museum, along with Maidstone Carriage Museum, is a significant regional museum with over 600,000 objects in its collection. In the next few years we are looking to transform the museum from a venerable institution to a civic museum hub at the heart of life in Kent’s County Town.

If you have a passion for customer service and making museums efficient and exciting, this might be the job for you. You will assist with the development and enhancement of the museums and two listed, historic buildings and will be expected to generate innovative ideas to promote the venues and enhance the visitor experience.

The Council considers this to be a customer focused role and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.

Maidstone Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all employee and volunteers to share this commitment.

This is a full time position on a permanent contract.
