Job Opportunity: Marketing Director, Brooklands Museum, Surrey

Tuesday 16th October 2018

Part-time: 2.5 to 3.5 days per week. Salary c. £45,000 pro rata.

Brooklands Museum is seeking to appoint a Marketing Director. This new position will be a key part of the senior leadership team. The Marketing Director will work with the existing marketing department to grow the museum’s visitors through a programme of research, brand development and by devising a new pricing and marketing strategy, which will reach out beyond the existing core audiences of enthusiasts and families.

In 2018 it was a finalist in the prestigious Art Fund Museum of the Year award.

"It is an exciting time to join the museum. Over the next 12 months we will be reviewing our strategic priorities, master-plan and operations, with a view to significantly increasing visitor numbers and completing substantial new capital projects in the coming years. The Marketing Director will play a key role in shaping the museum’s plans.

The person we are looking for will have considerable experience developing and implementing brand and marketing strategies that grow visitor/customer numbers and build reputation. They will have a successful track record of business to customer marketing, ideally within the visitor attraction, museum, heritage, cultural or leisure sectors.  They will have well developed leadership skills and be able to effectively cultivate a widespread focus on visitors/customers and brand within an organisation. They will be able to contribute to the overall development and leadership of the museum and take a holistic view of the role of marketing and communications in delivering the museum’s charitable purposes and business objectives. They will enjoy working collaboratively with other departments and the museum’s partners on site and beyond.

Further information can be found at

If you would like an informal conversation about the role, please see the details of how to arrange this in the application pack on the museum’s website."

Deadline for applications is 10am on Tuesday 16th October 2018. Interviews will be on the morning of 31st October 2018.
