Trustee Opportunity: Seeking Board Members

Seeking New Board Members

Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre is a unique attraction in the South East of England, preserving and documenting traditional industries and rural activities on a 36-acre outdoor site. Key features include a narrow-gauge steam railway and vintage bus service, together with a number of exhibition halls and demonstration sites covering a diverse range, including inter alia printing, electricity, communications, woodworking, pottery, and glass making. The Museum site includes a restaurant and shop.

They are looking to add to their Board membership, seeking people with an ability to think strategically, assess opportunities and manage risk, provide oversight of staff and volunteers; and with experience of business management in either the public, private, or voluntary sectors.  Prior governance and volunteering experience would be welcome.

They are seeking candidates with skills in the following areas:  museum management, marketing, income generation and fundraising, engagement with educational institutions, community and local engagement, the leisure industry.

Time commitment: Up to 12 meetings per year (evening) plus involvement in Committee work, normally involving daytime meetings.
