Job Opportunity: Outreach Session Leader, Elmbridge Museum

Wednesday 25th July 2018

Salary:  £30.00 per session / £10.55 per hour

Casual contract

Elmbridge Museum’s Learning Service delivers a growing education programme to the local community, through school outreach sessions, family fun workshops and community events. Our popular Learning service engages over 3,000 school children and families each year.
We are recruiting a creative and enthusiastic Outreach Session Leader to join our Museum team.  Overseen by the Learning Officer, you will deliver workshops in a variety of settings giving you the opportunity to work with a range of audiences, including:

  • Children
  • Young people
  • Adults

Within the role of Outreach Session Leader you will lead hands-on learning activities which involve:

  • Object handling
  • Art and craft
  • Drama and role-play

It is a physical role where you will move and set up furniture and equipment.  You will also collect, transport and return workshop resources to Elmbridge Museum, which is based at the Civic Centre, Esher.
We are particularly looking to recruit people who can have a flexible approach to the role, this is because the amount of work we are able to offer is dependent on the number of school bookings the museum receives.  Due to this we require you to be available to work 2 set days a week.  Full training will be given.

For an informal conversation about the post, please contact Victoria Rookyard-Wheatley, Learning Officer on 01372 474568.

Closing Date:    Wednesday 25th July 2018
Interview Date:  Monday 13th August 2018
