Portsmouth Historic Dockyard - best Large Visitor Attraction
Portsmouth Historic Dockyard has been awarded Gold for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Beautiful South's Awards for Excellence 2013-2014.
The champagne corks were popped last week at the glittering award ceremony and gala dinner held at The Felbridge Hotel in West Sussex.
The Beautiful South Awards are now in their 23rd year and recognise businesses and destinations across the tourism industry for their exceptional levels of customer service and dedication to raising standards. The winners were announced by hosts Ken Robinson CBE, Chairman, Tourism South East (TSE) and travel journalist and broadcaster Alison Rice.
The award was collected on stage by Paul Griffiths, Operations Manager at the Mary Rose Museum (vice chair of the Hampshire Solent Museum Development Advisory Panel) and Chantelle Millington, Finance Manager at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
Winning Gold now means The Historic Dockyard will go on to represent the South East on the national stage at the Visit England Awards for Excellence in 2014.
