Sustainability Project Sharing Day

28th March 2018, Kelmscott Manor, Lechlade, GL7 3HJ

Kelmscott Manor invites museums from around the area to come and find out more about their Arts Council England Resilience funded sustainability project and the Manor's plans, and to hear about what they have learnt.

In a time of political and economic uncertainty and an ever increasing demand on resources, Kelmscott Manor is looking for innovative ways to increase its profile and become more sustainable so that the Manor and its heritage will continue to attract visitors and be maintained for future generations. The day will feature talks about the project and also a talk by a professional fundraiser with a specialism in museums.

Lunch will be provided and a tour of the beautiful property will also be offered. The manor, famed for their cream teas, has been described as an 'utterly beautiful slice of heaven', and this is a day not to be missed!

Engage Leadership Programme 2018-19 now open!

Tuesday 3rd April 2018

The Extend Leadership Programme is open to applicants working in learning and education roles in the arts, museums and libraries who meet the eligibility criteria. The Programme enables mid-career professionals to acquire and apply leadership skills, working with a cohort of peers from across England, Wales and Scotland. Through a combination of intensive residentials, opportunities to explore aspects of leadership through group projects, mentoring and personal development planning - participants gain opportunities to explore and reflect upon their current practice, to meet with inspiring leaders in the sector, to develop their own projects, and to plan for the future.

Extend was developed in response to the under-representation of learning and education staff in leadership within the arts and cultural sectors. Now in its ninth year, almost 100 colleagues have graduated from the Programme from across the arts and cultural sectors.

In 2018-19 the Extend Leadership Programme will support up to 14 colleagues working in learning and education roles in the arts and cultural sectors who consider themselves to be mid-career and aspire to leadership. It is envisaged that places will be allocated as follows:

•         10 places will be for candidates working in England

•         3 places will be for candidates working in the creative arts in Scotland

•         1 place will be for a candidate working in Wales.

Applicants working and resident in England or Wales may work in the arts, museums, libraries or heritage in either employed or freelance roles – or a combination of both. Applicants working and resident in Scotland must work in the creative arts in either employed or freelance roles – or a combination of both. The deadline for applications is 10am on Tuesday 3 April - visit for further information about Extend.
