Sustainability Project Sharing Day

28th March 2018, Kelmscott Manor, Lechlade, GL7 3HJ

Kelmscott Manor invites museums from around the area to come and find out more about their Arts Council England Resilience funded sustainability project and the Manor's plans, and to hear about what they have learnt.

In a time of political and economic uncertainty and an ever increasing demand on resources, Kelmscott Manor is looking for innovative ways to increase its profile and become more sustainable so that the Manor and its heritage will continue to attract visitors and be maintained for future generations. The day will feature talks about the project and also a talk by a professional fundraiser with a specialism in museums.

Lunch will be provided and a tour of the beautiful property will also be offered. The manor, famed for their cream teas, has been described as an 'utterly beautiful slice of heaven', and this is a day not to be missed!

Mary Rose Museum Volunteers Needed!

Monday 30th October 2017

The team at the award-winning Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth is looking for new volunteers to help and join-in. There are a number of volunteering opportunities available:

Collections Volunteer

Would you like to gain experience volunteering in the heritage sector or museum collections? If so, then this role could be for you!

Since the re-discovery of the Mary Rose in 1971, the Mary Rose Trust has developed a substantial archive of photographs, documents, publications and illustrations about the archaeological excavations and the artefacts that were recovered.  We want to make this information more accessible and usable and, thanks to support from the Arts Council England Designated Development Fund, we have been embarking on the first stage of a project that sets to digitise the Mary Rose archive.

If you are over the age of 18 and available from 10am-4pm for at least one day Monday- Wednesday each week (excluding bank holidays) we would like to hear from you. Contact:

Aside from historical information, volunteers man our handling tables, assist with way finding and general information giving, with regards to the museum.
