Sustainability Project Sharing Day

28th March 2018, Kelmscott Manor, Lechlade, GL7 3HJ

Kelmscott Manor invites museums from around the area to come and find out more about their Arts Council England Resilience funded sustainability project and the Manor's plans, and to hear about what they have learnt.

In a time of political and economic uncertainty and an ever increasing demand on resources, Kelmscott Manor is looking for innovative ways to increase its profile and become more sustainable so that the Manor and its heritage will continue to attract visitors and be maintained for future generations. The day will feature talks about the project and also a talk by a professional fundraiser with a specialism in museums.

Lunch will be provided and a tour of the beautiful property will also be offered. The manor, famed for their cream teas, has been described as an 'utterly beautiful slice of heaven', and this is a day not to be missed!

Are you an example of good practice in the Care of Larger and Working objects?

ABTEM (The Association of British Transport and Engineering Museums) is pleased to inform you that they ave now completed the first draft of the revised Guidelines for the Care of Larger and Working objects.

The next stage of the project will be to gather a selection of detailed case studies that will be used to illustrate key processes described in the text.  These will be supplemented by shorter illustrated examples (a picture of an object, conservation process or other activity, accompanied by a brief caption).

Since the project launch, ABTEM have put together an initial list of potential case studies and are now looking to expand this list according to the requirements of the draft document (see Appendix).

If you are interested in submitting a case study, please complete the highlighted fields of the enclosed form. At this point, they will consider all submitted case studies and make appropriate selections for use as exemplars and illustrations.

You may submit more than one Case Study. Please use a separate form for each one.

Once you have completed the form, please send as email attachment to Efstathios Tsolis together with any images attached as separate files.
