Sustainability Project Sharing Day

28th March 2018, Kelmscott Manor, Lechlade, GL7 3HJ

Kelmscott Manor invites museums from around the area to come and find out more about their Arts Council England Resilience funded sustainability project and the Manor's plans, and to hear about what they have learnt.

In a time of political and economic uncertainty and an ever increasing demand on resources, Kelmscott Manor is looking for innovative ways to increase its profile and become more sustainable so that the Manor and its heritage will continue to attract visitors and be maintained for future generations. The day will feature talks about the project and also a talk by a professional fundraiser with a specialism in museums.

Lunch will be provided and a tour of the beautiful property will also be offered. The manor, famed for their cream teas, has been described as an 'utterly beautiful slice of heaven', and this is a day not to be missed!

Museum Trustee Day coming up this Autumn

Saturday 14th October 2017

Trustees of charity-run museums are playing a critical role in shaping our regional heritage sector.

We recognise the challenges trustees face in leading often complex organisations. That is why, we have joint forces with the Association of Independent Museums (AIM) to offer trustees an opportunity to meet peers and explore themes together that we hope will help you lead your museum even more effectively.

In the morning, Jaane Rowehl will give a whistle-stop tour of the sector as a whole in an attempt to piece together the puzzle of acronyms and oddities that you may have encountered already in the wonderful world of museums.

After lunch, Adrian Babbidge will take over for a session on what you need to know about your museums' operations to keep oversight of performance and organisational health.

Join us on Saturday, 14 October 2017 from 11am at the award-winning Mary Rose Museum for our first joint Museum Trustee Day.
