Sustainability Project Sharing Day
28th March 2018, Kelmscott Manor, Lechlade, GL7 3HJ
Kelmscott Manor invites museums from around the area to come and find out more about their Arts Council England Resilience funded sustainability project and the Manor's plans, and to hear about what they have learnt.
In a time of political and economic uncertainty and an ever increasing demand on resources, Kelmscott Manor is looking for innovative ways to increase its profile and become more sustainable so that the Manor and its heritage will continue to attract visitors and be maintained for future generations. The day will feature talks about the project and also a talk by a professional fundraiser with a specialism in museums.
Lunch will be provided and a tour of the beautiful property will also be offered. The manor, famed for their cream teas, has been described as an 'utterly beautiful slice of heaven', and this is a day not to be missed!
Consultancy Opportunity: with the Learning Liaison Forum
The Learning Liaison Forum (LLF) is a collaborative forum for museum and heritage learning staff and volunteers across the South East Region to share ideas, resources and development opportunities. The majority of its members are drawn from Surrey, West and East Sussex.
The current workforce development project builds on the museum5aday project that was started by LLF in 2016 as a twitter campaign to help museum staff improve their personal wellbeing.
It aims to:
- Improve the health and well-being of front line staff (paid and voluntary) that engage with the public (through education, learning and participation, and visitor services roles).
- To raise the profile of LLF as an organisation locally and nationally; and leave the network in a stronger position to apply for funded partnership projects in future.
Enthusaistic consultants with some experience in museum workforce development or learning and engagement are invited to tender by noon on the 20th March.
