Sustainability Project Sharing Day

28th March 2018, Kelmscott Manor, Lechlade, GL7 3HJ

Kelmscott Manor invites museums from around the area to come and find out more about their Arts Council England Resilience funded sustainability project and the Manor's plans, and to hear about what they have learnt.

In a time of political and economic uncertainty and an ever increasing demand on resources, Kelmscott Manor is looking for innovative ways to increase its profile and become more sustainable so that the Manor and its heritage will continue to attract visitors and be maintained for future generations. The day will feature talks about the project and also a talk by a professional fundraiser with a specialism in museums.

Lunch will be provided and a tour of the beautiful property will also be offered. The manor, famed for their cream teas, has been described as an 'utterly beautiful slice of heaven', and this is a day not to be missed! 

Learning & Engagement Officer, Kent Mining Museum at Betteshanger

Learning & Engagement Officer (permanent)

£25,000 to £28,000 per annum

Celebrating Kent’s mining heritage will be a key focus for the new Visitor Centre and wider Park. It will provide opportunities to showcase the unique story of Kent’s mining communities and profile their heritage through a combination of the Museum, heritage trails, online collections database and vibrant outreach & event programme.


Working closely with the Museum and Heritage Manager the Learning & Engagement Officer will develop and deliver the formal and informal learning programme at the Museum, and through outreach in the community. The Community Curator will be responsible for the development and display of the Museum collections in line with the UK Accreditation standard and will also work closely with our stakeholders in particular the Kent mining heritage community.


The successful candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and to provide proof of their right to work in the UK. Due to the rural nature of East Kent and the requirements of both roles access to transport is essential.
