Contract Opportunities: 3x consultancy contracts, National Motor Museum
The NMMT has recently been awarded £72,800 from ACE DDF to help develop the Museum’s collections database and to deliver a range of audience focused activities. The project runs from July 2016 to March 2018.
The ‘Keep CALM and STEAM Ahead’ project will improve access to collections information, enhancing curatorial knowledge and interpretation. It will extend and improve the CALM collections management system to facilitate research on underused aspects of the Museum’s vast Collections, particularly technical material held in the Motoring Reference Library and Object Collection. Unlocking this fascinating information will provide content that will enable the Museum to create a range of new school and family activities. It will build on the National Motor Museum’s current Education Service, supporting the development of school education programmes linked to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). This reflects the technical and mechanical nature of the Museum’s collections, and responds to recent changes to the National Curriculum.
