Security Review 'sharing day'

Accredited museums must obtain expert and objective security advice for collections at least every five years and plan to implement any recommendations.  We are interested to find out if there are museums in west Kent who are due a review of their security arrangements and would benefit from a 'sharing day' with a consultant security advisor to help meet the Accreditation requirement. Please contact joanna.low@brighton-hove.gov.uk to register your interest.

Something unusual is happening in Kent libraries...

Lose yourself in a fictional frenzy of paperback puppetry,

Scale the shelves with a chorus of thesaurus,

Discover dance in the romance and mime in the crime (section).

The Faversham based dance-theatre company Pestiferous present their new experiment in libraries across Swale and Medway, as part of the Creative People and Places Ideas Test fund. This 20-minute performance will pop out of the shelves and surprise regular library goers, librarians and new visitors alike.  For details on when and where, see the link below.

This is an exciting and innovative approach to shaking off any preconceived attitudes of libraries by visitors - do museums need to do something similar?

If you are a museum in Medway or Swale and want to try something new and exciting like this, then the Creative People and Places Small Experiment Scheme is still open.
