Security Review 'sharing day'

Accredited museums must obtain expert and objective security advice for collections at least every five years and plan to implement any recommendations.  We are interested to find out if there are museums in west Kent who are due a review of their security arrangements and would benefit from a 'sharing day' with a consultant security advisor to help meet the Accreditation requirement. Job Vacancy:      Research Assistant for Farringford, the former home of Alfred, Lord Tennyson and his family.

Reports to:          House and Collections Manager

Farringford, Bedbury Lane, Freshwater, Isle of Wight. PO40 9PE

Hours:                  37.5 hours per week

Term:                  Fixed term contract for 12 months

Salary:                £19,000

Job Description:  You will work closely with the House and Collections Manager and senior management team to prepare Farringford House and garden, home of the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, for public opening.

You will be required to research the family archives of provide information for interpretation which will include the website, audio guides and literature about the house. There will be an opportunity to design and help organise a small exhibition about the restoration of the house.
