Job Opportunity: Arts and Culture Coordinator, Christ Church University, Canterbury

Background

Arts and Culture is at the heart of Canterbury Christ Church University where we have an artistically vibrant, academically inspiring and socially engaging arts programme. Our music, visual arts, dance, drama, film, photography, animation and art and design makes an enormous contribution to the artistic and cultural life of the University and the region.

Our arts and culture activities benefit from a number of outstanding facilities including the Sidney Cooper Gallery and St Gregory's Centre for Music and we have an extensive range of partnerships including Canterbury Festival, Whitstable Biennale, Creative Foundation’s Folkestone Book Festival, Propeller, Blast Theory and the Maggini Quartet.

Our arts and culture goals are artists, creativity, learning and reach and we now have a vacancy for an Arts and Culture Coordinator.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Arts and Culture, your responsibilities include liaison with artists, partners and academic researchers, leading on student engagement with Arts and Culture, undertaking all marketing, brochure and web design and updates for the arts and culture programme, supervising the box office including data collection and interrogation, and providing administration support to the Director of Arts and Culture.

The Person

You will be an experienced coordinator and/or administrator having worked in a cultural organisation and/or University with experience including project management, marketing (including web and social media) and data collection. You must be able to demonstrate high levels of attention to detail, strong organisational and communication skills, and that you have a good grasp of the opportunities for arts and culture within the University. Having experience of working with box office systems would also be advantageous.
