Security Review 'sharing day'

Accredited museums must obtain expert and objective security advice for collections at least every five years and plan to implement any recommendations.  We are interested to find out if there are museums in west Kent who are due a review of their security arrangements and would benefit from a 'sharing day' with a consultant security advisor to help meet the Accreditation requirement. Please contact joanna.low@brighton-hove.gov.uk to register your interest.

Call for Papers: Risk and Reward: Enabling a Culture of Innovation

Oxford University Museums are looking for presentations from colleagues working in museums and cultural organisations on how they encourage their staff to be more innovative and take risks. This could be through programming, training, funding opportunities, interdisciplinary working groups or different approaches to staffing and organisational structures. We want to hear about techniques being used, how they are influencing the organisational model, the risks taken, rewards reaped and lessons learned.

The deadline for submission is 8 April, and we aim to turn things around pretty quickly and have speaker invitations out by 13 April – it is quite a light touch application process.

The conference will be held on 10 June 2016, at the Museum of Natural History, Oxford, Delegate fee £70.

Any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch, either with me or via our team email aspire@museums.ox.ac.uk.
