Security Review 'sharing day'

Accredited museums must obtain expert and objective security advice for collections at least every five years and plan to implement any recommendations.  We are interested to find out if there are museums in west Kent who are due a review of their security arrangements and would benefit from a 'sharing day' with a consultant security advisor to help meet the Accreditation requirement. Please contact joanna.low@brighton-hove.gov.uk to register your interest.

Big Lottery Grants - 'Reaching Communities'

Grants are available for projects which encourage voluntary and community organisations to identify their own local ideas for funding. It will support projects that improve the quality of life in communities across England, offering help where it is most needed. Funding is available for projects lasting up to five years. The programme has two strands:

  • Reaching Communities: grants of more than £10,000 are available for salaries, running costs, a contribution towards core costs and equipment. However, applicants that are applying for over £500,000 must contact Big Lottery first. They can also fund up to £100,000 for land, buildings or refurbishment capital costs
  • Reaching Communities Buildings: for projects involving land or buildings, grants of more than £100,000 can apply. The scheme is targeting buildings or sites based in the most deprived ‘Lower Super Output Areas’ in England, but will consider projects based close to an eligible area
  • Match funding is not required, but applicants are encouraged to arrange complimentary funding from other sources.

Deadline: Continuous rolling programme
