Security Review 'sharing day'

Accredited museums must obtain expert and objective security advice for collections at least every five years and plan to implement any recommendations.  We are interested to find out if there are museums in west Kent who are due a review of their security arrangements and would benefit from a 'sharing day' with a consultant security advisor to help meet the Accreditation requirement. Job Opportunity: Effective Retail for Small Museums’ Project

The South East Museum Development Programme is running an effective retail for small museums project between February-June 2016, and are looking to recruit a consultant to work with on this exciting opportunity. This project is part of the ACE funded South East Museums Development Programme (SEMDP) 2015-8 and relates to the ‘Better Business’ theme.

The project will be working with small museums with a turnover of less than c. £15,000 in the BOB (Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire) and SEWS (Surrey, West and East Sussex) regions, and will be focused on supporting small museums in the BOB and SEWS regions to develop robust, commercially-minded business practice in their retail operation.

The total consultancy budget is £8,000 (inclusive of travel, expenses, insurances) and the tender deadline is 19th February  2016, at 17:00. Interviews will be held on 24th February 2016.
