News & Opportunities
Are you celebrating Age Friendly Museums Day?
If you are doing something for Age Friendly Museums Day and/or Silver Sunday on or around 4th October then don't forget to complete the Silver Sunday events form so it is promoted through their website and don't forget to mention Age Friendly Museums Day in your description.
You can find the events form and details here.
Remember it can just be an opportunity to promote your regular programme for older people.
Doing something exciting you want to tell others about?
The Age Friendly Museums Network newsletter is coming out at the end of September. If you are doing some interesting and exciting work with older people in your museum, working with a community partner or involved in older people / museums research then they want to hear from you.
Deadline: 14th September 2015
What we want: paragraph outlining your work with picture if possible and link.
Newsletter will be sent 30th September
What sort of event should we hold?
Activities should be inspired by the Network's Manifesto and need not be resource-heavy or new. Some museums might run an existing activity, perhaps publicising it differently to attract new older visitors. Others might trial new activity ideas or host an event celebrating existing partnerships with local older people's groups or organisations.
Why get involved?
The event can promote your museum as Age Friendly to strengthen your relationships with local communities and develop new cross sector partnerships.
