Sustainability Project Sharing Day
28th March 2018, Kelmscott Manor, Lechlade, GL7 3HJ
Kelmscott Manor invites museums from around the area to come and find out more about their Arts Council England Resilience funded sustainability project and the Manor's plans, and to hear about what they have learnt.
In a time of political and economic uncertainty and an ever increasing demand on resources, Kelmscott Manor is looking for innovative ways to increase its profile and become more sustainable so that the Manor and its heritage will continue to attract visitors and be maintained for future generations. The day will feature talks about the project and also a talk by a professional fundraiser with a specialism in museums.
Lunch will be provided and a tour of the beautiful property will also be offered. The manor, famed for their cream teas, has been described as an 'utterly beautiful slice of heaven', and this is a day not to be missed!
Creative Museums opportunity (Small museums)
This 18-month programme offers a fantastic research and development opportunity for a small cohort of museums to enrich experience for their audiences, regenerate their programmes and venues and develop new business opportunities using the ‘Scratch’ process.
Having held four introductory events across the country in Manchester, Bristol, London and Gateshead and for those who were unable to attend these events, the film of the London session is available here.
They are now inviting interested museums to download our application pack, which includes the project timeline, FAQs, ‘Scratch’ for beginners and a letter of recommendation from David Jubb, Artistic Director and CEO, Battersea Arts Centre and Michael Day, CEO, Historic Royal Palaces.
The programme is targeted at small museums, with 9 full time equivalent posts or less, however, there is an opportunity for larger museums to be involved by way of the ‘Scratch groups’ that will surround the central six selected museums.
The closing date for applications to Creative Museums is Friday 4 September 2015
For further information incluiding an application pack visit the Creative Museums website.
