The IWM Centenary Partnership and 2016
The Centenary Partnership led by Imperial War Museums is made up of over 3,400 not-for-profit organisations from 55 countries who have joined together to mark the First World War Centenary. Last year, members of the Partnership in the UK and Ireland reported that they received over 11 million visits through their projects and commemorations. If your organisation is not-for-profit and marking the centenary, sign up to the Partnership today by visiting www.1914.org/partnership. Once signed up you will be able to access a range of resources, access the centenary logo, and publicise your plans for free.

IWM is marking 2016 as the ‘Year of the Film’, in line with the 100 year anniversary of the 1916 ‘Battle of the Somme’ film which was viewed by 22 million people in Britain at the time. They plan to replicate this mass-engagement with the film in 2016 by making the 'Battle of the Somme' available to the Partnership to screen in their venues. They will be sending out details to members shortly with information about how to get involved in the ‘Year of the Film’.
