Event Expenses Fund: £50 - £200 for your group to support Voluntary Arts Week events in Kent
Voluntary Arts Week is an annual celebration of cultural creativity across the UK and RoI. It is run by Voluntary Arts who provide local, regional and national press and media support and social media campaigns featuring events listed as part of the week.
It takes place from 15th – 24th May 2015.
Any group can put on an event – you can choose to feature a performance or an exhibition, run a bake off or a guerrilla gardening session, co-ordinate a craft bomb or flash mob or even put on a meeting or event to recruit volunteers for something else later in the year.
Events don’t have to be put on just for the week – if your annual community festival falls during the dates, or you are planning an exhibition in a local café, or your school is taking over the local theatre for the week, you can simply add that event to the Voluntary Arts Week selection. The crucial thing is that everybody taking part is doing it because they love it, not because it is their job.
All the information on getting involved is online. Follow the instructions on the site to sign your event up. If you don’t have easy web access, or anything on the site doesn’t make sense, you can phone or email our South East Officer, Katie Rees on email@example.com or 07818031012 and she will help you get your event signed up.
The Event Expenses Fund is designed by Voluntary Arts to help groups in Kent take part in Voluntary Arts Week. To qualify, groups must put on events that aim to do one of two things.
- Either: Increase the number of volunteers aware of, involved in and supporting the group
- Or: Reach new audiences or new participants for the group’s activities, helping it become more sustainable
Events do NOT have to be new, they can be part of your group’s usual programme, but they must be open to non-members and/or reaching out to new people in a clearly thought through way. We will make awards of between £50 and £200 to about 10 -15 different groups.
