Meet HLF - find out about grants of up to £50,000 for your museum's work with young people
The Heritage Lottery Fund is enthusiastic about engaging young people with heritage. Getting involved helps them develop new skills and interests, connect with their communities and have fun. And they bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to projects.
HLF's Young Roots programme offers grants of £10,000-£50,000 to help young people aged 11 to 25 to explore their heritage, from green spaces, museums, and historic sites to language, local memories and youth culture.
Through Young Roots, HLF want to give young people aged 11–25 the chance to plan and deliver their own heritage projects. They’re supported along the way by heritage and youth organisations working together. Projects celebrate the young people’s achievements and share what they're learning with the wider community.
Would you like to find out more about Young Roots and meet an HLF representative 1:1 to discuss your ideas? HLF will be on hand at a free Strong Voices funding seminar and networking lunch organised by Artswork on Thursday 20 November 2014 at National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
At the seminar you'll also have the opportunity to hear about a range of other funding opportunities and to hear about how Strong Voices is connecting disadvantaged young people with world class arts and heritage.
