Who should attend this course?
This half-day course is designed for those working in the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Kent (excluding Medway).
This course will examine the issues around bidding for contracts from statutory funders with a view to helping organisations decide whether this type of funding is right for them. The course will examine the funding context, look at the significant legal and practical differences between grants and contracts, help organisations to understand what they need to have in place to be ready for the contract culture and some 'dos and dont's' when it comes to writing bids.
Kathy Roddy is a qualified and experienced fundraising trainer who has spent more than 20 years in the voluntary sector, first as Executive Director of a national animal welfare organisation, then, since 2000, as a fundraising trainer and consultant. She is a member of, and holds, the Institute of Fundraising’s Certificate in Fundraising Management and has recently co-authored an MA module with the University of Kent Centre for Philanthropy on the ‘Art and Science of Fundraising’. Through both training and consultancy, Kathy has helped charities and voluntary groups raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes.
