Course content

This course is designed for fundraisers who need to strengthen their case for support to grant making bodies and statutory funders. Evidence of need is a key component in a case for support and this course will look at how to gain hard evidence of need from statistical, academic and in-house information resources and how to present this information within the context of a funding application.

Please note: You will need to bring a laptop or a tablet to this course so that you can access online resources during the course

Your Trainer

Kathy Roddy is a qualified and experienced fundraising trainer who has spent more than 20 years in the voluntary sector, first as Executive Director of a national animal welfare organisation, then, since 2000, as a fundraising trainer and consultant. She is a member of, and holds, the Institute of Fundraising’s Certificate in Fundraising Management and has recently co-authored an MA module with the University of Kent Centre for Philanthropy on the ‘Art and Science of Fundraising’. Through both training and consultancy, Kathy has helped charities and voluntary groups raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes.
